Painting has fascinated Channing Houston from his childhood. His interest was cultivated in high school through the efforts of one teacher in particular: Lauretta Bonfiglio. Houston pursued a liberal education, receiving a B.A. degree from the University of Chicago. After having lived and worked in the metropolitan Washington, D.C area for a number of years, Houston returned to Annapolis where he was born and grew up. His work has been exhibited around the region in exhibits at Maryland Art Place, Gallery 788 (Baltimore), St. Johns College, PASS Gallery (Washington, DC) and in the annual Art Between the Creeks exhibit in Annapolis.
